Find me on:

breaking_news.jpgThe 2019 IPPS Final Rule was put on display for public inspection on August 2, 2018 and is scheduled to be published in the Federal Register on Monday, August 17, 2018.  The pre-publication version can be viewed HERE (Medicare DSH begins on page 969).  SCA will be reviewing and analyzing the details of the final rule and its components and we will provide more detailed conclusions soon.

At quick glance, CMS states they are not addressing future CR resubmissions in this rule (page 1048); “Therefore, the normal timelines and procedures apply for a hospital to request to amend a cost report."

Additionally, CMS expects audits to begin Fall 2018 (page 1064); “Due to the overwhelming feedback from commenters emphasizing the importance of audits in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data reported on the Worksheet S-10, we expect audits to begin in the Fall of 2018.”

If you need a refresher on all things S-10, we've written extensively on the topic.  See everything we've authored on S-10 HERE! And, you can find additional resources on our website HERE. Stay tuned for our detailed analysis of the FY 2019 IPPS final rule to be posted next week.
